Bandra Fair Blog Contest

Bandra Fair puts Bandra on centre-stage for a week of devotion and festivities. Most residents of Bandra and its surrounding areas celebrate 8th September as the birthday of Mother Mary, followed by a week long of festivities that follow with everybody in a merry-making mood. All these activities are centered around one of Bandras hillocks, and the crowning glory of this hill - the 103 year old , Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount.
During the Bandra Fair, the entire area is decorated with festoons and buntings. Many pitch up stalls selling religious objects, roasted grams and sweet items which is a must buy for most people visiting them. Stalls sell sticky Goan sweets and wax idols of the Virgin along with an assortment of candles shaped like hands, feet and various other parts of the human body......
- Has the Fair lost its charm ?
- As Bandraites, can something constructive be done to enhance the fair, even as we play host to our relatives and friends beyond Bandra ?
- Are restrictions really the answer to controlling the crowds ?
Please comment for a better Bandra Fair, in the coming years.
Your suggestions are important to all Bandraites.
Please mention your Name and contact no.,

Bandra Feast gives Bandraites an opportunity to play host to their relatives and friends from elsewhere.
With festive-feelings, the spirit of sharing is enhanced and makes everyone feel good - cutting across community lines. Bandra is indeed - the Queen Of The Suburbs !

I feel our cops are doing an excellent job this time - to keep hooligans coming to the Bandra Fair at bay.
Hope this continues till the end.
